  12. Has ANYONE been able to connect to the SOFT-LOGIK BBS since the 3.0i 
  13. patches were announced?

  15. Having read Michael Loader's post announcing the patches on the BBS, I've 
  16. been calling since Friday, but without success.  The indications:
  17.  
  18.  - connection attempts time out w/ no CD (spontaneously gives up @ ~82 sec).
  19.  
  20.  - dialing via the handset presents tones *unlike* the v32/34/42 tones we all
  21.    know & love (1/2way between a slow modem & a fax?).

  23. I e-mailed Michael about this on Friday, but have heard nothing back, and
  24. there's been no change in the BBS modem's behaviour.

  26. I suspect this is a common problem, and accounts for the utter lack of 
  27. posts proclaiming "I got 3.01i!!!".

  29. Bad phone lines or not, this should be trivially simple to clear up on 
  30. SL's end *if they want to*.  With all due admiration, respect and other 
  31. appreciative noises toward SL, SW, and the others who continue to program 
  32. on the deck of the Titanic, I must say this is beginning to resemble the 
  33. Cheese Shop sketch....
